Beautiful Ideas for "Something Borrowed"

Did you know that the tradition of "something borrowed" says that borrowing an item for your wedding day from a happily married family member or friend will bring good luck?

I'm not particularly superstitious, but it certainly can't hurt! Check out a few ideas below that I hope spark inspiration for you.

  1. A nice pen to sign your marriage license

This is a super simple yet meaningful way to incorporate "something borrowed" into a key moment of your wedding day. How special to include a treasured family member or friend in the exact moment that you make it official! Also, I highly recommend getting a pretty pen to use if your photographer will be capturing the moment. It's one of those details that most couples don't think about until after the fact.

  2. A vase or candleholder

Think outside the box and incorporate "something borrowed" into your decor. Do your parents or grandparents have a candleholder or vase that you love? Ask about borrowing it to incorporate on your sweetheart table, gift table, or even as a part of your ceremony decor.

  3. A brooch or charm for your bouquet

Looping a borrowed brooch or charm around your bouquet will ensure that a dear family member or friend is with you as you walk down the aisle. And how special is that?!

  4. Hair accessory

Borrowing a hair accessory is one lovely way to add a personal touch to your bridal look. Plus, it's a great way to level up your hairdo without buying something new!

I hope you've enjoyed these ideas and that they have sparked some inspiration as you plan your own wedding day. Stay tuned for one more post in this series in which we'll look at ideas for "something blue"!
